Artist Statement
The richness of the interplay
between color, line & texture make each other “sing”.
My subjects, be they
figurative, landscape or non-representational, have become a backdrop for my real
interest which I find in abstracting and paring down details of any theme
that exists on my canvas. I find the more I paint I want less and less detail,
to become less linear in approach; to expand on the richness, the morphing and
the blending of colors, the textures and the rhythms of a piece itself,
creating a visual tension, with softened edges. I wish to get lost in playing
with the piece until it tells me there’s nothing more to do.
